There are two beach cafes on Herm Island. One of these is situated at Shell Beach while the other is at Belvoir Bay. Both of these beaches make a perfect anchorage for lunch. Let your boat dry out on Shell Beach and then walk to the cafe or use your dinghy and row ashore at Belvoir.
The cafes are open from April to the beginning of October and serve a wide selection of sandwiches, hot & cold drinks, cakes, snacks and ice-creams etc. They also sell a range of essential 'beach paraphernalia' from sun-tan lotion to frisbees and from buckets & spades to films for your camera. With such reasonable prices there is no need to buy things before you come across from Guernsey.
The beach cafes can provide everything you need for your day on Herm, to save you carrying it all with you. Hire a deckchair and windbreak, buy your lunch and some beach goods for the children and sit back and watch the world go by until it is time for ice-creams.
What better way to spend a day......
