Herm is a holiday destination for all seasons and is open to visitors throughout the year. Most guests visit during spring, summer and early autumn, although there are holiday makers who regularly come to stay every Christmas and New Year.
The White House Hotel opens just before Easter weekend and closes mid October, but if you want to visit out of season Herm still has plenty to offer.
A boat service to Herm Island from Guernsey continues all year, but is dependant on weather conditions. During the winter months there is no boat service on Sundays except for over the Christmas and New Year holiday period. The Mermaid Tavern and gift shops remain open for limited hours.
Hire a self-catering cottage throughout the year and relax in front of a warm coal fire after a bracing walk around the island. Perhaps stay in a well-equipped centrally heated apartment that affords uninterrupted sea views and comfortable accommodation. Take time out and enjoy a truly relaxing winter, early or late season break on Herm and discover an island that will constantly captivate. Whether you want to comb beaches, bird watch or discover parts of the island ‘off the beaten track’ you are assured of a relaxing and peaceful holiday. Guests are able to pre-order food, drinks and newspapers for their stay with us - what could be simpler?
