All Cottages/flats are of a good standard and well furnished with bed linen, towels crockery, cutlery, a television and refrigerator with small freezer compartment. All Cottages are graded Visit Guernsey quality standard 3***. (Higher grading and use of word ‘luxury’ precluded as island power supply, for environmental reasons, is insufficient for dishwashers/microwaves/electric kettles.)
Eating Out
If you don’t fancy cooking, you are spoilt for choice: The White House Hotel, The Ship and Mermaid restaurants or, to be more casual, have a pub lunch or dine from the barbeque at the Mermaid. Advance booking in restaurants is recommended. Baby sitting can be arranged. Beach-fare available at Shell and Belvoir Cafes.
Time of arrival When arriving at either the Herm Harbour (High water landing) or Rosaire Steps (Low water Landing) guests are greeted by one of our porters who will transport luggage to your accommodation. The cost of porterage is included in your accommodation cost. We ask all guests to ensure all of their luggage is well labelled with the booking name and cottage name clearly shown. Please note that all luggage is carried at the guests' own risk.
Please let the administration office know which boat you are expecting to travel on. We do not meet every boat arriving on Herm. However if we know you are arriving our porter will be at the boat to collect your bags. By advance arrangement elderly or infirm persons may be transported by an open-top all-terrain vehicle.
Grocery Orders
Pre-order your requirements from the island’s stores and they will be delivered to your door on arrival. The town centre of St Peter Port is just 20 mins away by low-cost ferry for top-ups from a Marks & Spencer food hall! Certain fresh foods, meat and fish can be ordered from the grocery shop during your stay. In the 'Downloads' section on this page there is an order form for you to print and return to us.
Times of Arrival and Vacation
Whilst every effort will be made, cottages are not guaranteed to be ready before 4pm, although they are usually ready by lunch time. Departing guests must vacate their accommodation by 9.30am. All beds are made prior to arrival and the accommodation will have been thoroughly cleaned by our staff. On departure guests are expected to leave the accommodation in a clean condition.
Luggage
All of our guests are more than welcome to arrive on the island before their accommodation is ready. Our porters will collect your bags from the boat and look after them until the accommodation has been serviced for your arrival.
Any guests who have to vacate their accommodation before they wish to leave the island are welcome to leave their luggage in their room or cottage. Our porters will look after your bags and deliver them to your chosen ferry for your departure.
