Herm School plant 'Mini Pots of Care'

The children of Herm school have recently raised £35 for the Marie Curie Daffodil Appeal. Last autumn they all planted miniature daffodil bulbs in pots. When the shoots were up the pots were taken home so that the children could watch the daffodils grow and then flower.

Last year the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity encouraged 239,000 children across the UK to plant bulbs and asked the children to take home donation envelopes. All money raised is used by the charity to support nursing care for people with terminal cancer at home. The aim of the project is to encourage pupils aged from 3 – 11 years to learn about science and nature whilst making a positive difference to the lives of people with cancer.

On March 1st 2007 the children had a ‘Daffodil Day’ when they all drew pictures of their daffodils.
