The main winter project work this year is taking place at The Mermaid Tavern. For a few years Pennie and Adrian Heyworth have been aware that some improvement in the complex was necessary as it is an area that has developed bit by bit over the years. Many visitors didn't even realise that there was a restaurant tucked in behind the barbecue.
Work started early October and is progressing at speed to create an airy, brasserie-style restaurant with a purpose-built kitchen. The restaurant will open out into the courtyard and will be visible as soon you you go through the archway into the Mermaid complex.
