Lesley and Chris Pimblett are pleased to announce the arrival of Alfie Bernard who was born on 28th November 2007 (two days after his due date) in the Princess Elizabeth Hospital on Guernsey. He weighed in at 6lb 7oz. For the week before he was due Lesley and Chris had been going to Guernsey to stay each night and coming back in the daytime so that Chris could go to work and so that Lesley could make sure her nest was cosy! The arrival of Alfie coincided with some very windy weather so Lesley didn’t get many visitors from Herm. She did, however, have a visit from her mother Pauline Sandy, who travelled from her home in the Lake District for a surprise 24 hour trip to see her daughter and first grand-child! Lesley’s parents had got a visit booked for 7th December but the maternal bonds were too strong and Pauline decided she couldn’t wait that long to see the newborn!
| Chris enjoys being able to bond with his son over his lunch hour. One of the special things about living on Herm is that the dads get home to see their children at midday. |
The new parents were pleased to bring Alfie home when he was 6 days old. A midwife came over 2 days later on a very wet and windy day and the boat waited at Rosaire Steps while Chris took the midwife to see Lesley and baby Alfie. All is progressing well with the new mum and baby and they had their first outing as a family to the Herm school Nativity in St. Tugual’s church. The school children would have loved to have had Alfie playing the part of baby Jesus!
Alfie arrived just before Chris and Lesley’s first wedding anniversary - see the link at the top of 2007 news to read more about this.
